Aichwalder Art Days 2025 featuring works by Anastasiya Nesterova

Anastasiya Nesterova draws on stone, scratches on metal, carves in wood, and paints in oil on canvas or linen. City and countryside, forest and water, bridges and "trivialities" - her representations are always reduced to the essentials, with often unusual perspectives. A brief encounter with the artist and her work during a visit to ART Karlsruhe was enough to make the decision for the exhibition at the Aichwalder Art Days 2025. The artist was born in 1979 in Sevastopol on the Crimean Peninsula by the Black Sea in Ukraine, as the daughter of a Ukrainian painter and a Russian submarine commander. She began her art studies in Odessa in 1999, and in 2005 she moved to Germany, where she studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster under Prof. Wolfgang Troschke in the Design department, specializing in Illustration with a focus on printmaking, graduating in 2009. Numerous scholarships and awards have taken her to cities by the water, and many of her graphic works were created during these stays at the Baltic Sea, in artists' houses in Northern Germany, as well as in Denmark and Provence. Anastasiya Nesterova lives and works as a freelance artist in Münster, Westphalia, and also teaches artistic techniques at various educational institutions. The Aichwalder Art Days will present the printmaking of artist Anastasiya Nesterova from November 14 to 23, 2025, at the Evangelical Community Center in Schanbach. The opening of the exhibition will once again take place at the Evangelical Church in Schanbach on Friday, November 14, 2025.
