State Youth Choir BW

In the State Youth Choir, young talented singers between the ages of 15 and 25 perform under the direction of a renowned choral conductor, presenting significant works of choral literature in cities across Baden-Württemberg and abroad. Since 1979, gifted young singers in BW have had the opportunity to engage in demanding choral work at a high level in the State Youth Choir alongside their activities in other choirs. The young singers, aged 15 to 25, then present significant works of choral literature in locations throughout Baden-Württemberg under the direction of a renowned choral conductor. In addition to the long-time artistic director Dan-Olof Stenlund from Malmö/Sweden (until 2018), the choir has recently been conducted by Jan Scheerer (Copenhagen/Leipzig) and Denis Rouger (Stuttgart). With concert performances of operas and choral-symphonic works, a particular focus is placed on demanding a cappella choral music. Concert tours have taken them to Scandinavia, Hungary, Russia, Poland, and Scandinavia.
