Radolfzell am Bodensee

The Ratoldus School would like to explore the historical background of its name with the students and organize an exhibition on the life and work of Ratoldus. The exhibition “Who Was Radolt?” addresses the questions of why and since when the school has borne his name. Together with the students, the historical background of Bishop Radolt, his work in Radolfzell, and the naming of the Ratoldus School will be explored. The goal is to create a small exhibition about the life and work of Ratoldus and his significance for Radolfzell today. To this end, the students will learn about historical research methods and gain a deeper understanding of the town’s history. The knowledge they acquire will be presented in a portable permanent exhibition at the school and shared with the broader school community through informational texts on the school website. The exhibition will open to the public for the first time on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ratoldus School building. The exhibition is inclusive and accessible.
