A play that connects to the tradition of outdoor performances from the post-war period and addresses the involvement of individual residents of Möggingen in National Socialism, as well as the persistence of far-right ideologies to this day. On the last weekend of June, the courtyard of the Möggingen Water Castle will be the venue for the castle festival, reviving the legendary outdoor performances of the post-war era, with the splendid highlight being the production from 1960 for the 1,200th anniversary celebration. This tradition was already revived with the "Indian Princess" during the Möggingen 1,250th anniversary in 2010 and the "Living Chess Spectacle" in 2017 in the village square of Möggingen. This year's play sheds light on various topics, including the accommodation of French officers in the castle, the involvement of individual residents in the Nazi movement, interpersonal conflicts during the occupation, and the continuation of far-right ideologies into the present day. However, the title of this year's play, "Albinle the Castle Ghost," suggests that it will not only be about serious matters. In addition to the theater performance, there will be musical entertainment afterward: on June 26, the "Alläfänzigä" from Immendingen, and on June 27, the band "Sound Kitchen." The program will be complemented by a children's afternoon on Saturday, refreshments at food and drink stalls ("Möggingen cooks"), and a castle illumination to conclude the event.
