Concert: Tscheky & the Blues Kings

Fat Texas blues paired with rock 'n' roll – a fusion from the pipeline of the "New Generation" of German blues. This exists in the southern states of Germany, more precisely in Chiemgau. What the guys started over a decade ago as young wild ones has now become a real blues hurricane with a charged dose of rock 'n' roll. Michael "Tscheky" Sedlatschek (born in 1998), band leader, lead guitarist, and singer, had the most significant musical experience at the age of 6 when he saw Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1984 on his dad's VHS tape at Rockpalast / Loreley – Stevie has never let him go since. In 2011, he founded the band "Tscheky & The Blues Kings" together with Christoph Voggesser on rhythm guitar and blues harp. Andreas Schatz pounds the piano keys, sealing the band's sound with boogie influences and organ sounds. Markus Rehrl provides the necessary groove on the Fender bass, perfectly uniting with Elija von Le Suire on drums to create the ideal rhythm section. Definitely "bad to the bone"! So what makes this band so special? One might think that blues in its various forms is like a dusty book on a shelf – far from it! It is precisely through the energetic and authentic performance of the band that they captivate both young and old. It can happen that young teenagers suddenly say, "I didn't even know this music could grab me like that! Normally, I don't listen to stuff like this, but this is really cool!" The secret is surely that Tscheky & The Blues Kings pay homage to their idols while proudly putting their own stamp on it. Together with their original songs, the band's show turns into a real "Texas Hoedown"! Tscheky & The Blues Kings are particularly proud of their achievements. The fact that the band performed and was interviewed in the BR evening show in 2023, and was named "Band of the Month" on Bayern 2 in the summer of 2023, perhaps underscores a small "blues hype" in Germany.
