International Volunteer Day

Invitation The Special Film Volunteer Work on November 27, 2025 The International Volunteer Day is celebrated annually on December 5 and honors the work of millions of volunteers worldwide. Because: Our community thrives on volunteer work. Volunteering is the glue that holds our society together. It is essential for a good coexistence. The city of Müllheim i.M. places great importance on appreciating, strengthening, and promoting volunteer work in and for Müllheim, as well as making the many engagement opportunities known. In addition to the Müllheim Volunteer Exchange www.muellheim-ehrenamtsboerse.de, there is the Volunteer Working Group (AK) that works to make volunteer engagement in Müllheim visible, experiential, and recognizable. On the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, the AK Volunteer is showing the feature film "What Connects Us" on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM in cooperation with the Müllheim cinema. Sandra (VALERIA BRUNI TEDESCHI), a single woman in her fifties, lives an independent life free from conventions. When the couple from the neighboring apartment has to go to the hospital for the birth of their child, Sandra reluctantly agrees to take care of their little son Elliott, unaware that she will become an important figure for the entire family. What began as temporary help leads to an unexpectedly deep bond. Admission is €9.50; reduced €8.50. As an association, initiative, or social institution, why not show your appreciation to "your volunteers" with a joint visit to the evening and engage in conversation with other committed individuals...: Before the film starts, from around 6:15 PM, there will be an opportunity to connect with other volunteers and gather information (information tables, finger food in the cinema foyer). After the film, the AK Volunteer invites all interested and engaged individuals to a small gathering with drinks and finger food. We look forward to numerous contacts and conversations.
