The "FORUM | Educational Institute" of the Catholic parish of Bad Schönborn-Kronau invites you to an evening dedicated to the theme "Creation." The lecture: Joseph Haydn, The Creation Between Faith, Science, and Music The question of the origin of the world and life has intrigued humanity for millennia. Different approaches provide various answers – theology, natural science, and art. In this lecture, we will explain these answers.
Theology What does the term "creation" mean in the Bible? What message lies behind the biblical creation narratives, and why are they still significant today?
Natural Science How do astronomers explain the origin of the world and life? From the Big Bang to the development of the cosmos and the evolution of life, natural science offers us a fascinating picture of the emergence of the world.
Music Joseph Haydn's oratorio "The Creation" is one of the most significant works in music history. With its impressive choirs and arias, it expresses wonder, reverence, and joy over creation. Sebastian Hübner will provide an introduction to the work and present selected audio examples.
Speakers: Bernhard Dedera, former religious education teacher Sebastian Hübner, professor of singing at the Protestant University of Church Music. This evening is being held in cooperation with the Bruchsal Chamber Choir and its performance of Haydn's "Creation" on November 16 at St. Paul, Bruchsal.
