Series Magnificat

The vocal ensemble Bad Ems sings under the direction of district cantor Jan Martin Chrost works by Johann Sebastian Bach and others. The vocal ensemble Bad Ems is part of the extensive choral work at St. Martin Bad Ems, which consists of several children's and youth choir groups, the St. Martin choir, and the choir school, and is dedicated to demanding a cappella literature. Jan Martin Chrost studied from 2010 to 2016 for a Master's in Catholic Church Music, among others with Prof. Winfried Bönig, Prof. Thierry Mechler, and Prof. Margareta Hürholz. Concurrently, he served as a church musician at the pilgrimage basilica St. Marien in Kevelaer. In 2018, he obtained a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik Rottenburg-Stuttgart (Prof. Alexander Burda). Since 2020, he has been the district cantor at St. Martin in Bad Ems.
