At the KLIMA Forum, Maike Schmidt (ZSW) will discuss the opportunities that H₂ presents for the energy transition – and where its limits lie. The event is free of charge and does not require registration at the KLIMA ARENA. Hydrogen plays a central role in the further development and completion of the energy transition towards climate neutrality. The demand for renewable hydrogen is expected to rise significantly in the future. H₂ is thus seen as a synonym for sustainable energy supply. As part of the KLIMA Forum, Maike Schmidt from the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research BWZSW in Stuttgart will provide insights into the opportunities and challenges of this technology. The ZSW is one of the leading applied research institutes for renewable energies and energy storage technologies. It conducts research in the fields of photovoltaics, renewable fuels, battery technology, fuel cells, and energy system analysis. Maike Schmidt is the head of the System Analysis department at ZSW. She has been dealing with questions of integrating renewable energies for many years, particularly focusing on the use of hydrogen in energy systems and markets. As a sought-after expert, she is active in numerous professional committees and networks, combining scientific excellence with practical expertise. The event is free of charge, and no registration is required. Just come by – we look forward to your visit on the first floor of the KLIMA ARENA!
