Benedictine Convent St. Lioba

The autumn hike takes us to the Benedictine Convent St. Lioba in Freiburg – Günterstal. We will take the S-Bahn to Wiehre station and then walk along beautiful forest paths to the convent of St. Lioba. The convent was founded in 1920 in the villa built around 1900 by the Wohlgemuth entrepreneurial family. On the large grounds, in addition to the villa, there are agricultural areas and a noteworthy herb garden. Sister Scholastika will guide us through the convent for an hour and a half (2:30 PM – 4:00 PM). After that, we will hike a bit further up the valley towards St. Valentin. From there, we will descend to Günterstal, where seats have been reserved for us at the restaurant "Kybfelsen" near the tram stop of line 2. There, we will conclude my hiking season for this year. We will return to Waldkirch by tram and S-Bahn.
