Experience the hardships of teachers' lives around 1850 in this authentic costume tour. Female teachers were still a rarity at that time, especially as societal norms, male prejudices, and legislation placed numerous obstacles in their way. The teaching celibacy is a prime example of this—and a reason why Elise is referred to as "Fräulein Elise" rather than "Frau Lehrerin." Museum guide Reinhilde Meier, dressed in authentic costume, provides fascinating insights into her daily life and school life around 1850. Duration is approximately 60 minutes, included in the admission fee. Registration is requested.
