Introduction to the Oratorio "Elias" by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
A preparatory event for the oratorio "Elias" by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy
In anticipation of the performance of the grand oratorio "Elias" by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy by the Münsterchor Rottweil on Sunday, November 23, 2025, we warmly invite you to a special introduction: On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Zimmertheater Rottweil, music and literature will meet in an impressive way. Texts from Paolo Coelho's "The Fifth Mountain," which literary engage with the life of the prophet Elijah, enter into a compelling dialogue with musical excerpts from Mendelssohn's oratorio. The event explores the question: What does Elijah still say to us today? – and opens new perspectives on an Old Testament figure that speaks through the centuries to our present day. The event will be accompanied by culinary delights from the Middle East.
