Film screening "The Most Beautiful Village" from 1971. When the federal competition "Our Village Should Become More Beautiful" was announced, the then-mayor Nikolaus Müller tasked the entire village with sprucing up houses, streets, and paths, and decorating the houses with floral arrangements. The efforts were successful: on October 7, 1967, Sasbachwalden was crowned the state winner and shortly thereafter even the national winner. In the Beethoven Hall in Bonn, Mr. Nikolaus Müller received the certificate and gold plaque from Federal President Heinrich Lübke. This prompted Mr. Erich Fischer to make his first film titled "The Most Beautiful Village" in 1971.
