In Weinsberg, the first kosher wine of Baden-Württemberg was bottled. The wine holds significant sacred meaning in both the Jewish and Christian religions, symbolizing a connection between the two. The number of participants is limited. Three years ago, the first kosher wine of Baden-Württemberg was bottled at the State Teaching and Research Institute for Wine and Fruit Growing in Weinsberg. The project, a collaboration between the Jewish religious communities of Baden and Württemberg, aims to symbolize the harmonious coexistence of the Jewish community and the state. The wine has high sacred significance in both the Jewish and Christian religions, serving as a means to bridge cultures. Under the name "Le Chaim - To Life!", a white wine made from the Riesling grape, a red wine made from the Lemberger grape, and a rosé wine as a cuvée are produced. The Baden state rabbi Moshe Flomenmann and the Stuttgart rabbi Yehuda Pushkin closely supervised the production and certified the wine. The production of kosher wine is subject to very strict ritual rules due to its sacred significance. For instance, all equipment that comes into contact with the wine must be specially cleaned ("kashered"). Additionally, all processes in the production must be carried out by rabbis and specially trained individuals known as mashgichim. The mashgichim are supervisors who ensure compliance with the rules of Jewish dietary laws, known as kashrut. Presenters: Susanne Jakubowski & Michael Rubinstein (IRGW) Registration at crg.spengler@gmx.de or by phone: 0151-467 439 14.
