Famulus 4.0 | Urban Contemporary Dance with Robot Dog | Iron Skulls Co ─ The Theatrical Breakin' Company German Premiere

Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V.

Experimenta-Platz, 74072 Heilbronn

A performance about the fragility of human relationships in a time of hyperconnectivity and automation. "Famulus" is the Latin term for "servant" — but who are the servants and who are the masters in the Industrial Revolution 4.0, characterized by the autonomy of digital systems, machine learning, and assistance? The dance performance engages with the current discourse on AI, technological dependence, and emotional attachment in the digital age. Here, the real and the digital, the human and the technological intersect: playfully, challengingly, humorously. Four dancers and a robotic dog. A production that does not provide answers — rather, it questions the influence of technology on a future that is already present. The Catalan group Iron Skulls has been combining the sensuality of contemporary dance with theater and the strength of urban dance since 2013, thus expanding the boundaries of movement. Their passion for incorporating non-dance elements into their productions is their trademark. This results in artistic universes that explore the past, present, and future, with which they perform at major dance festivals around the globe. The company has been awarded international prizes such as the HipHop Award at the Burgos during the New York International Dance Contest and the SóLODOS en Danza Award in Costa Rica. Supported by Generalitat de Catalunya Departamento de Cultura Instituto Catalán de Empresas Culturales de Cataluña ICEC Collaboration Festival Ho.
