Ract!festival

The large political free & outdoor festival offers a platform where young people can experience political education and participation. Workshops and lectures with political, cultural, and social content provide impulses. Numerous bands and aftershow parties ensure musical entertainment. In collaboration with the district youth council and other partners, the free and non-commercial festival gives young people with initiative the opportunity to experience political participation through "learning by doing." Workshops, debates, information booths, and lectures offer a forum where experts and young people come together, exchange viewpoints, and set new impulses. The culturally diverse supporting program, featuring readings, poetry slams, B-Boy battles, and concerts, provides special incentives. Here, young people are not only entertained; they are shown that cultural and political life not only intertwine but also thrive on individual engagement. Traditionally, on festival Saturday, the popular children's festival takes place from 1 PM to 5 PM, in cooperation with the Catholic youth community and the scouts of DPSG Tübingen. There is a fantastic program for festival visitors: face painting, music, and, as every year, a large station game with various painting, crafting, and play activities such as giant Jenga, fabric printing, color slingshot... On a running card, children can get their individual stations stamped and, at the end, create their own festival button!
