Cider Festival

The press, which is available to all 60 members of the cooperative, represents, in a way, the center of Tübingen's wine life. In front of the historic press, the winegrowers' cooperative traditionally invites everyone to a social gathering at the pressing square. A wide selection of good wines from the slopes around the city contributes to the pleasant atmosphere. There is also plenty of food available. In addition to traditional varieties such as Kerner, Müller-Thurgau, or Schwarzriesling, wines from younger vines are also being produced around Tübingen, whose high resistance to fungi makes the use of pesticides almost unnecessary. These include Cabernet Blanc, Johanniter, Souvignier Gris, Muscaris, Regent, Cabernet Cantor, and Cabernet Jura. Moreover, the location of most vineyards in nature or landscape protection areas is already associated with a more conscious use of pesticides. The viticulture around Tübingen is impressive! Alongside the wines, visitors can enjoy pizza, pulled pork burgers, and vegetarian or meat flammkuchen (all from the wood oven), chili and curry sausages in bread dough, as well as stick bread.
