Guided Bike Tour Castle Bike Tour

This 33 km long cycling tour leads through the Werratal from castle to castle in the towns of Eschwege and Wanfried, as well as the Meinhard districts of Schwebda, Grebendorf, and Jestädt. The family-friendly circular route runs along both riverbanks of the Werra and is almost entirely flat, making it particularly suitable for families and not requiring an e-bike.

Many of the buildings formerly referred to as castles are stately residences, mostly in half-timbered architecture.

With the exception of shorter sections on lightly trafficked country roads, the cycling path runs on bike and agricultural paths without car traffic. Wearing a bicycle helmet is mandatory.
