Fiery Christmas Market Neukirchen

A trademark of the Neukirchen market has "shrunk": the blazing fire that not only warms but also connects. Between warming flames, fairy lights, and lovingly decorated huts, an atmosphere typically emerges that cannot be planned; it grows from tradition, passion, and encounters.

As always, the historic marketplace with the Nikolaikirche, the fairy tale house, and the market fountain provides the perfect backdrop for the Christmas village. Especially in the evening, when the square transforms into a sea of lights, the romantic mood becomes palpable. It all kicks off on Saturday at 3 PM.

Delicious Tastes to Sample
In 2025, the Christmas market will entice visitors with a wealth of culinary delights:
Grilled sausages, currywurst, fries, waffles, cakes, and roasted almonds. Authentic Hungarian Kürtőskalács (chimney cake). Of course, there will also be mulled wine in all variations: classic, hot Aperol, Glühgin, freshly prepared, which remains a highlight.

The mulled wine party on Saturday evening starting at 6 PM is a cultural event: Here, young and old, old acquaintances and new faces come together. There will be chatting, laughing, and toasting.

Activities for Children and Families
There is also plenty for the little guests:
Children's carousel in the marketplace, Christmas fairy tale in the fairy tale house (Sunday at 3:15 PM), creative workshop by the city youth services with candle making and crafts (on both days), book flea market by the Steinwaldschule (only Sunday). This makes the Christmas market not only a place of wonder but also of participation.

December 6: St. Nicholas Comes and Villa Kunterbunt Performs
On December 6, it is St. Nicholas Day, and Ms. Haust, who is organizing the Christmas market this year, managed to persuade St. Nicholas to make a stop in Knüllstadt. He will surprise the Neukirchen residents on Saturday and will surely bring something along, regardless of whether all the children have been good or not.

Also on Saturday, the children from the daycare "Villa Kunterbunt" will perform at the Christmas market. A performance by children for children, which the parents will also enjoy.

Craftsmanship, Passion, and Gift Ideas
Numerous exhibitors will once again present their handmade treasures:
Hand-turned wooden art, beeswax candles, jewelry, textiles, natural products, bags, hats, and Christmas decorations. A highlight: Craft and decoration items "from Neukirchen for Neukirchen." Those who do not find something here have missed Christmas.

Special Moments: Anniversary Concert in the Nikolaikirche
On Sunday at 4 PM, the choir "Frischer Wind" invites you to a special concert in the Nikolaikirche to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Admission is free! A musical conclusion with goosebumps guaranteed.

The tourist information and the fairy tale house will be open on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM. Guided tours of the fairy tale house will be offered. On Sunday, December 7, 2025, the tourist information and fairy tale house will be open from 2 PM to 5 PM. At 3:15 PM, storyteller Heike Herbst will take visitors into the world of the Brothers Grimm in the cozy, warm storytelling room of the fairy tale house.
