Dobler Cultural Autumn: Benefit Piano Concert at the Kurhaus

On November 5, the benefit piano concert at the Kurhaus Dobel invites you to an evening full of sound and emotion with works by great masters performed on the exquisite Bösendorfer grand piano. Jeanette Chao (Karlsruhe) and Rudolf Ullrich (Dobel) will be performing.

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM, the community of Dobel invites you to a special musical experience at the Kurhaus as part of the event series "Dobler Kulturherbst": a piano evening in support of the German Cancer Aid. Admission is free, and donations are warmly welcomed, benefiting cancer research.
On this evening, works by great masters will be performed on the exquisite Bösendorfer grand piano, including pieces by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Frédéric Chopin, and Johannes Brahms. The performers are Jeanette Chao (Karlsruhe) and Rudolf Ullrich (Dobel).
The young pianist Jeanette Chao, born in 1995 in Kiel and raised in Taiwan, studied at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Prof. Kalle Randalu, where she completed her Master's degree in piano in 2023. She is currently deepening her training in harpsichord with Kristian Nyquist. In addition to her concert performances, she teaches at the Tonkultur music school in Karlsruhe. At the Dobel piano evening, she will present works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, among others.
Rudolf Ullrich, originally from Stuttgart, has been living in Dobel since 2017. The 78-year-old graduate engineer in electrical engineering and computer science began playing the piano only at the age of 55 – initially self-taught, later under the guidance of the renowned pianist Prof. Tibor Yusti von Arth (Harvard University), a student of Rachmaninoff and Backhaus. After a longer break, he has rediscovered his passion for playing the piano and is currently preparing for the International Piano Competition for Amateurs in Paris. In Dobel, he will interpret pieces by Mozart, Chopin, and Brahms.
The program will be presented by Karl-Heinz Ruff, and the youth department of the Sportfreunde Dobel will provide refreshments during the intermission. The patron of the event is Mayor Christoph Schaack.
An evening that not only touches musically but also does good – in support of the German Cancer Aid.
