International Danube Festival

The International Danube Festival is a showcase of international Danube partnership and cultural exchange. It focuses on unity in diversity, the idea of cultural cooperation in Europe, and the strengthening of cohesion in the Danube region. Every two years, the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm invites everyone to the International Danube Festival. For ten days, lively activities take place on both sides of the Danube banks as international artists and guests come together at the festival of encounters from all countries along the Danube. The international cultural program offers a sophisticated mix of various genres – whether music, dance, literature, or exhibitions, the Danube countries present themselves with their cultural ambassadors. The centerpiece of the Danube Festival is the Marketplace of Cultures. It reflects the fundamental idea of the International Danube Festival, showcasing the diversity of cultures, music and dance forms, as well as lifestyles along the Danube. Here, visitors experience authentic craftsmanship, traditional music, and culinary specialties from various countries and regions. There is a colorful family program for young and old alike. However, the Danube Festival does not only take place on the stages or at the market – in numerous encounter projects, such as the International Youth Camp, new friendships are formed and space for exchange is created.
