International Danube Festival

The International Danube Festival brings together cultures from along the Danube: for ten days, concerts, performances, literature and dance programs, and the colorful market of the Danube countries enliven the banks of the Danube in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. Every two years, the banks of the Danube in Ulm and Neu-Ulm are transformed into a vibrant center of cultural diversity. The International Danube Festival invites guests from all countries along the Danube to a *festival of encounters* – with a sophisticated mix of music, dance, literature, exhibitions, theater, and performance. Around **150 events** make up a lively program on both sides of the Danube, with many offerings *free of charge*. The heart of the Danube Festival is the **Market of the Danube Countries**: here, the Danube countries present themselves with authentic culinary delights, traditional handicrafts, and contemporary products – a sensory experience along the dark blue Danube promenade. Whether specialties from Hungary, Romania, or Croatia: the diversity along Europe's largest river can be experienced in one place. More than a cultural festival: the Danube Festival sees itself as a *showcase for the international Danube partnership*. In numerous encounter projects, youth camps, and discussions, visitors and artists create space for exchange on politics, society, and the environment – in the spirit of unity in diversity. The festival areas along the banks of the Danube are easily accessible on foot and directly connected to the **public transport network of Ulm/Neu-Ulm**, e.g. via the Rathaus Ulm or Petrusplatz Neu-Ulm stops.
