Burgviertel, 74206 Bad Wimpfen

Every year on the last weekend of August, the Guild Market in Bad Wimpfen invites visitors to experience craftsmanship, music, and dance – in the tradition of the harbor market from 1391. Craftsmanship, history, and spectacle – The Guild Market in Bad Wimpfen offers visitors a fascinating journey into the Middle Ages. Numerous artisans such as lamp makers, brush makers, rake makers, garment tailors, glassblowers, calligraphers, and instrument builders showcase their traditional crafts and bring ancient techniques to life in a historical setting. But it’s not just the craftsmanship that captivates – jugglers, musicians, dancers, knights, and wax soldiers contribute to an authentic medieval atmosphere. There is plenty of entertainment: music groups, puppeteers, and jugglers provide a varied program, while falconers present fascinating demonstrations with their birds of prey in front of the Palatine Chapel. There are also exciting hands-on activities for children. A special highlight is the festive procession of the market lord of Wimpfen with his entourage. The colorful parade starts at the Lion Fountain and winds through the town to the ceremonial market opening at the Blue Tower. The local clubs and restaurants ensure that visitors are well taken care of in terms of food and drink. The Guild Market is organized by the eponymous association in collaboration with the city. The proceeds from the entrance fee are used for special purchases such as historical garments and armor to keep the traditions of the market alive.
