Mulled wine gathering with the devilishly good "Teufel Steiner," the mulled wine from the Waldulm Wine Cooperative eG. Good to know: Why is our mulled wine actually called Teufelsteiner? The Legend as a Namegiver It is a well-known legend: Waldulm wanted to build a church. The devil recognized the danger and did not want to just watch. He schemed to prevent it, and he could no longer be placated. With a stone, large and heavy, he wanted to destroy the work. The whole host of hell breaks loose – a battle between good and evil – a storm from all sides, amidst the noise of sulfurous steam. The earth becomes hot – glowing all around, the lord of hell snorts in furious rage. And then he throws in great anger, but the stone melts from his hand. Since then, it has been known as "Kutzenstein," a sought-after viewpoint, and around it, hellishly good wine grows from the hot earth. May God protect Waldulm from devilish dangers in the future, and let us preserve the Waldulm wine – the devil's wine from Kutzenstein – for its goodness.
