They become increasingly impressive on each floor, culminating in an impressive finale in the Knights' Hall. Mr. Günter Bestfleisch, graduate engineer and architect, provides insights into the craftsmanship that characterized the Baroque period and, as a contemporary witness, reports on how the historic ceilings were renovated. As part of BAROQUE Week, we are organizing a musical castle walk, a stucco workshop for children, a family concert, and two special themed tours on the exciting restoration process of the castle at Achberg Castle. On August 15, the oldest view of Achberg Castle will be ceremoniously unveiled in the courtyard. After its restoration, it will return permanently after 300 years. The picture shows the castle immediately after its Baroque conversion between 1693 and 1700 under the Teutonic Order's Landkomtur Franz Benedikt von Baden. The ensemble GAMBELIN, consisting of Anna Zimre (viola da gamba) and Christian Ellin (soprano saxophone, bass clarinet), will provide the appropriate musical accompaniment. Renaissance and Baroque music meets jazz and modern music. The concert inspires enthusiasm for music from the heyday of this Baroque gem. The link between past and present is particularly fitting. It is a field of tension in which the living cultural monument of Achberg Castle also moves.
