From slumber to model renovation

In 1988, the castle was acquired by the district of Ravensburg and saved from decay. But how do you preserve a historical monument? Special themed tour with Dipl. Ing Arch. Günter Bestfleisch. The architect planned and supervised the renovation of the castle. In this special themed tour, he recounts his experiences, the difficulties he overcame, and the exciting discoveries he made during the renovation process. The tour is part of Open Monument Day on September 13. Admission is free. The motto of this year's Open Monument Day is "NETWORKS: Monuments & Infrastructure." Achberg Castle is a living cultural monument that is integrated into many networks. It is part of a team of full-time and freelance artists and cultural workers and is actively involved in monument preservation. During the renovation phase around 35 years ago, the infrastructure for today's use was created.
