Around 1870, the railroad brought technical innovations and previously unknown developments to the region and to Meßkirch. Trade and transport of local products became possible.
The railroad builds bridges: mobility becomes normal, and contact is established with the "big wide world" and its ideas. The example of Meßkirch clearly shows how society and the region are changing. During the tour, Kreszentia, a Fleckvieh cattle breeder from Heudorf, recounts her life in the 19th century.
