At last, 'dolce vita' and 'savoir vivre' are returning to the streets of Tübingen. For five days, the old town will be bustling with market activity when traders from the twin towns of Aix-en-Provence and Perugia come to visit. With a colorful array of culinary specialties and handcrafted products, the French and Italian guests transform the city into a Mediterranean market village every year. The colorful stalls attract over 100,000 visitors year after year.
You can sample the delights of Umbrian-Provençal cuisine, which will enchant your nose and palate: lavender, pâtés, liqueurs, wines, ham, olive purées, spices, herbs, sheep's and goat's cheese, bouillabaisse, mussels, jams, honey, and truffles. Anyone who has never tasted the famous calissons from Aix, which according to legend were invented in 1473 for the second marriage of the French king René, will never forget their taste after visiting the market.

Large children's festival with children's flea market, face painting, crafts, dancing, skateboard workshop, and much more on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the courtyard of the Bürgerheim, Schmiedtorstraße.
The TüBus offers special day tickets for groups during the Umbrian-Provençal market. With this ticket, up to five people can use the entire bus and train network within the city of Tübingen all day (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m.). The special tickets are available in advance at TüBus sales outlets and ticket machines. Bus travel in Tübingen is free on Saturdays.
