KLAUS PRIOR "a long story"

For decades, there has been a close connection between the artist Klaus Prior, who lives in Lugano, and the municipality of Kißlegg. On the occasion of his 80th birthday in the summer of 2025, a solo exhibition will be dedicated to the artist in Kißlegg. Those who walk through the exhibition will quickly realize: THE HUMAN BEING is at the center of Klaus Prior's artistic work. Already on the ground floor, visitors are welcomed by a powerful group of sculptures and are even invited to take a seat briefly and let the art resonate with them. Prior's artworks are neither "comfortable" nor "beautiful" at first glance; sometimes they even disturb us. But they are always full of strength and passion, often created very spontaneously, and they are meant to be experienced rather than explained. This enthusiasm of the artist for his work shapes the entire exhibition. The exhibition in the castle is expanded by individual sculptures in the outdoor area, allowing for new places of encounter with Prior's art to emerge there as well. A beautiful, content-rich art catalog will be published in conjunction with the exhibition. The exhibition has been curated by Andrea Dreher M.A. in collaboration with the municipality of Kißlegg.
