Steam train to the Ottenhöfen Christmas market: Santa Claus is coming again! Following the great success of last year, the Achertäler Eisenbahnverein (AEV) will once again bring Santa Claus by steam train to the festively decorated Ottenhöfen Christmas market in 2025 – and this will be the third day of operation this year! Numerous volunteers – from the train driver to the stoker, ticket inspector, and the team at the information booth and Christmas market stall – are looking forward to bringing joy to both young and old railway fans this Advent season. In proven collaboration with Dampfnostalgie Karlsruhe, the powerful Baden freight locomotive 58 311 will once again be in service, bringing the authentic Karlsruhe express train to the wintery Achertal. Two train pairs will once again offer the opportunity to travel comfortably and with nostalgic flair into the back Achertal and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere there. Santa Claus himself will be on board during the journeys from Achern to Ottenhöfen. This is a special moment that families should not miss! The Achertäler Eisenbahnverein will also have its own stand directly at the Christmas market on both market days. There, hot drinks for young and old will be available, as well as exciting information about the association, its activities, and how to become part of the museum railway family. The AEV looks forward to many travelers who will accompany us in bringing Santa Claus to the Achertal!
