On August 15 and 16, Bernau will once again transform into a paradise for lovers of local crafts and Black Forest delicacies. More than 30 market and information booths, as well as numerous local businesses, invite visitors to explore and experience the area.
Around the picturesque Holzschneflermuseum Resenhof and at the Forum erlebnis:holz in the Oberlehen district, producers entice visitors with a colorful array of their Black Forest products. The Holzschneflermuseum also sparks curiosity about “farm life in times long past.”
**A diverse selection of Black Forest crafts & delicacies:**
- A wide range of artistic and practical items made of wood and ceramics, donkey milk soaps, alpaca wool products, felted seat cushions and seat skins, sewn items made from white linen, spelt husk and grape seed pillows.
**Regional specialties from Black Forest farms, including:**
- Fine cow and goat cheese
- Sausages, fine brandies, liqueurs
- Fresh fruit, spreads, beekeeping products such as honey, cosmetics, mead
- Freshly baked goods from the bakery, farmhouse bread, juice
- Herbal products, such as tea, salt
**At the Nature Park Market, the Resenhof, and the Forum erlebnis:holz, artisans demonstrate their skills:**
- Woodturning, spinning, weaving, glassblowing, basket weaving, rope making, decorating traditional costumes with gold embroidery, bobbin lace making, straw weaving
- In front of the Resenhof, carpenters from Bernau demonstrate how to work with logs. The alpacas from the Bohland Farm are always a special attraction.
**Information booths and hands-on activities:**
- The Southern Black Forest Nature Park, the Bernau Black Forest Association, Moor und Mehr (Saturday only) & the Black Forest Biosphere Reserve (Sunday only), as well as the Black Forest Herb Women, will offer information and hands-on activities.
- Children can make their own herbal salt and card wool.
**Culinary delights:**
- Enjoy the specialty Black Forest pasture-raised beef with Spätzle from the Naturpark-Wirt. Coffee and cake will be provided by the Bernau Museum Association.
