City tour from Onstmettingen to Ebingen Experience Albstadt from a whole new perspective! On this exciting city tour, Michael Hakenmüller will take you on a journey through the districts of Onstmettingen, Tailfingen, and Ebingen. Discover the dynamic history of Albstadt, which is deeply intertwined with the textile industry and the significance of the "Talgang." Over the centuries, Albstadt has established itself as a center of the textile industry. The tour highlights the fascinating rise of the textile sector in the region, showcases historical factories, and tells the stories of the people who worked here. Learn more about the transformation of the working world, the development of machinery, and the innovations that shaped the city. This city tour will also address the upcoming use of the recently sold "Friedenskirche" by the Protestant parish to private ownership, as well as the current repurposing of the former Ott velvet factory in Albstadt-Ebingen. Dr. Ingrid Helber (Balingen) has been invited as an assistant, who wrote an extensive dissertation on "Industrial Buildings in Albstadt" in 1999. Note: Public buses will be used to travel to the individual districts, where a brief city tour will follow in each area. The costs for the public bus must be covered by participants.
