Eppingen will celebrate the traditional Kirchweih from October 2 to 6. From Friday to Monday, a small fair at Kleinbrückentorplatz invites visitors to enjoy fun and joy. Guests can look forward to a colorful supporting program for the Kirchweih. The festivities surrounding the Eppingen Kirchweih will kick off on Thursday, October 2, at the Schwanenbiergarten. Here, the Friends of the Bürgerpark and SPIESS fashion house will present FATE – the cover band of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region during the Kerwe-Rock in the Bürgerpark. Admission starts at 7 PM, with the performance beginning at 8:30 PM.
The celebrations will continue on Saturday at 4 PM with the Kerwe-Hocketse in the festival tent at the Schwanen-Biergarten, hosted by the Friends of the Bürgerpark, featuring a cozy gathering with "Eppinger Moschd und Veschba." The highlight of the traditional Eppingen Kirchweih is the 42nd Sunday of Open Shops on October 5. The event is organized by the city of Eppingen and the Trade and Commerce Association. Numerous shops in the half-timbered town will be open from 1 PM to 6 PM, offering enticing deals and interesting activities. Exhibitors will complement the extensive Kirchweih offerings. On this day, the city center will be closed to traffic, providing the ambiance of a pedestrian zone.
Sunday of Open Shops also means street festival for Eppingen, featuring musical entertainment, car and motorcycle exhibitions, art and culture, museum exhibitions, and much more. The official opening of the 42nd Sunday of Kirchweih will take place at 1 PM in the marketplace, led by Mayor Klaus Holaschke and the Trade and Commerce Association Eppingen with the traditional tapping of the keg. The opening will be musically framed by the city band Eppingen and salute shots from the Eppingen shooting club.
Musical entertainment for the Sunday of Open Shops will be provided by the city band Eppingen, the music association Rohrbach, and the New Music School. The culinary delights will be offered by Eppingen's gastronomy and various stalls. Helgets Restaurant and Wirtskeller St. Georg will take care of the catering in the marketplace.
On this day, a Bürgerpark-Kerwe brunch with brass music and good entertainment will take place in the Schwanen beer garden from 11 AM to 7 PM. The following performances are planned:
- 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Fire Brigade Band Mühlbach
- 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Original Kraichgauer
The traditional Kirchweih market will conclude the Eppingen Kirchweih on Monday, October 6, in the old town. From 8 AM to 6 PM, various vendors will offer household and haberdashery goods, soaps, spices, tea, herbs, textiles, jewelry, and much more. The food and beverage stalls will also ensure that visitors are well catered for.
