The family exhibition "Flickwerk – Upcycling through the Centuries" from the collection of Frank Dähling will be on display at the City and Half-Timbered Museum "Alte Universität" in Eppingen from November 6, 2025, to March 1, 2026. In the last century, repairs and secondary uses were part of everyday life and economically necessary to keep the agricultural operation profitable. Today, in the age of mass production, so-called "upcycling" is a sustainable business concept and is experiencing a revival in the private sector with "Do it yourself" instructions available on the internet. The exhibition showcases creatively mended items from Frank Dähling's collection and inspires visitors to tinker themselves. In the second part of the exhibition, the transition from simple craft businesses to mass production is explained through the history of industrialization. Interactive stations invite visitors to become active themselves, trying their hand at darning socks or learning more about repair artists in nature through puzzles.

WE ARE OPENING OUR MUSEUM WORKSHOP FOR SCHOOL CLASSES AND DAYCARE CENTERS! We offer a program tailored to the educational curriculum with workshops and guided tours of the special exhibition.
Too expensive
Ich finde eigentlich immer etwas
