Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e.V.
Kirchstraße 7, 88605 Meßkirch
Exhibition Opening: October 16, 7 PM
Few ways of life are simultaneously idealized and demonized as much as rural living. While some associate it primarily with the beauty of nature, tranquility, and fresh air, others see it mainly as a lack of infrastructure, hard work, or yawning boredom. The exhibition "CountryLife – Human.Nature.Home." at the Kreigalerie in Schloss Meßkirch does not take sides. Various aspects of life in the countryside, particularly in the Sigmaringen district, find their place side by side here. Facts about living, working, and farming play just as important a role as the representation of rural life in art, as well as the challenges and peculiarities of living with and in nature. A deeper look is given to topics such as forestry, sheep farming, and traditional orchards. At the end of the visit, all guests can draw their own conclusions – does rural life mean idyll or desolation?
