Especially the Ottenhöfen Trachten and Folk Dance Group, as the organizer of the market, along with other local associations, contribute through their voluntary work to ensure that every visitor feels welcome and comfortable. Unique Christmas Spirit in the Heart of the Black Forest On December 13, at 3 PM, the Christmas market will be ceremoniously opened. The rustic wooden stalls, sparkling lights, and lovingly crafted decorations create an incomparable winter fairy tale that enchants young and old alike. A wide range of handcrafted gifts, regional delicacies, and fine wines from the area invites visitors to linger and enjoy. The festive opening will be presented by the children of the Ottenhöfen kindergarten, and the puppet theater will bring shining eyes to children with its adventures. On both days, the original Waldkircher street organ with JONECKO & OSO will be present at the Christmas market. At certain times, a creative crafting program for children will also be offered. The musical performances by the Sunshine Choir, the Frohsinn Singing Club, and the light dance of the Mini Guard will immerse the afternoon in a Christmas soundscape before the trio "Arvin & Andy Nesselhauf" brings a festive conclusion to the first day of the market. Highlights on Sunday: St. Nicholas Arrives by Steam Train Sunday, December 14, holds a special highlight for young visitors: St. Nicholas himself will arrive in the festive spa park and present small surprises to the children. And for those who want to make the St. Nicholas experience even more unforgettable, a nostalgic ride on the historic steam train of the Achertäler Railway Association from Achern to Ottenhöfen is available. This journey through the wintry Black Forest, accompanied by St. Nicholas, is an experience that will not be forgotten quickly. The day will musically kick off with the Frohsinn Tiergarten Music Association, followed by the Furschenbach Kindergarten and the children’s choir of the Erwin-Schweizer School, who will create a contemplative atmosphere with their Christmas melodies. The brass class + and the Grinden Groovers will perform in the afternoon. The festive conclusion will be provided by the trio "Dinner 4 Two," which will ceremoniously round off the Christmas market with its live music.
