The "Laufer Feschd" is an annual highlight in the Laufer community. Since 1648, the name St. Leonhard has been associated with the community of Lauf. At that time, the first village church in Lauf was consecrated to Saint Leonhard. Abbot Leonhard of Noblac was revered as a great benefactor and helper in times of need, as well as the patron saint of horses and livestock. Once a year, the sounds of neighing horses and hoofbeats resonate through our village, accompanied by the musical notes of the music association and the marching bands, along with the rolling of carriage wheels – our Leonhardus ride parades through Lauf. Since 1648, the name St. Leonhard has been linked to the community of Lauf. At that time, the first village church in Lauf was dedicated to Saint Leonhard. Abbot Leonhard of Noblac was honored as a great benefactor, helper, and as the patron saint of horses and livestock. In his honor, the Leonhardus ride took place for the first time in 1966 in Lauf. Many horse owners, riding clubs, and horse enthusiasts from the entire Middle Baden region visit the community of Lauf on this day every year. The schedule for our festival day is as follows: 09:00 AM: Festive service in the parish church of St. Leonhard. Following this, there will be a concert by the Laufbach musicians in front of the church, and the church will host a champagne reception. Reception of the honored guests at noon, who will take their seats in the decorated honor carriages. Numerous spectators line the streets to witness the horse procession and the parade through the village. The event concludes with the blessing of the horses in front of the town hall. At the Leonhardus ride, there will be a play street for young and old – from an XXL marble run to a bubble station and various skill games, the forecourt of the Neuwindeckhalle will be transformed into a real adventure world under the guidance of educational professionals. Throughout the village, visitors will be catered to with culinary delights, ranging from goulash and pumpkin soup, grilled foods, fries, to waffles and cakes.
