Café del Mundo and the Frankfurt Philharmonic present their own unique mix of great rock and pop hits, traditional works, and original compositions. They are very different, yet immediately connect, living their shared dream: to introduce their instrument, the Andalusian flamenco guitar, to audiences worldwide. This is followed by a decade of hard work, crossing the desert of niche music. Their breakthrough comes during the pandemic with their own sensitive yet energetic interpretations of classics from pop and film music. “Viva la Vida” initially receives 1.5 million views, while “Una Mattina” counts over 120 million streams on Instagram. They receive concert invitations from around the world. As artistic personalities, they are opposites: Alexander Kilian is regarded as a guitar prodigy, highly virtuosic, extroverted, and award-winning, often dancing over the rows of chairs.
