More than Organ Pipes - Museum and Workshop Tour

A behind-the-scenes look at the organ building workshop of Achim Schneider in Waldkirch for both small and large organ fans, or those who are yet to become one, during a combined tour of the Elztal Museum and the organ building workshop. On various dates, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to watch organ builder Achim Schneider at work. In cooperation with the Elztal Museum Waldkirch, Schneider is offering museum and workshop tours on four Saturdays this year. The tours begin at 3 PM at the Elztal Museum Waldkirch. After about 30-45 minutes, the group will continue to the organ building workshop of Achim Schneider located at Schillerstraße 28, which is just a three-minute walk from the Elztal Museum. The museum club "Die Orgelpfeifen" (https://www.elztalmuseum.de/mu...) from the Elztal Museum Waldkirch has already gone on an exploration tour in the organ building workshop of Waldkirch organ builder Achim Schneider. There, "Die Orgelpfeifen" discovered much more than just organ pipes. A comprehensive variety of materials is necessary for building an organ: wood, metal, leather, glue, paint, and cardboard. Schneider requires several hundred hours to complete such a sound apparatus. For this, he needs not only craftsmanship but also a good ear. The children found the many tools and the beautiful organs, as well as the old toy carousel models scattered throughout the workshop, particularly interesting during their visit.
