Kuhberg Tavern | Wine Bar

Family-run winery with traditional wine tavern. In summer, outdoor seating is available. The rustic wine tavern is located in the small district of Bachenau, high above the Neckar Valley and the Teutonic Order city of Gundelsheim with its historic alleys.
Wine Tavern with Tradition
At the Kuhberg tavern, what is feasible is still produced in-house. In the cellar of the family winery, the wines mature. The traditional wood-fired bread is baked in the village's own bakery in Bachenau. And the Maultaschen (German dumplings) are homemade, like much of the other items on the menu. The Kuhberg tavern accommodates around 50 people. Weather permitting, there are an additional 100 outdoor seats in the beautiful courtyard.

Guided Wine Hikes
The guided wine hikes of the Kuhberg tavern are a special experience for groups of 10 or more and can be booked at any time by appointment. The hikes are particularly impressive in late summer when the grapes are ripening. The approximately 3 km long route through the Gundelsheim vineyard "Himmelreich" offers interesting insights into the world of wine, led by vintner Alexander Mühlbeyer. During several breaks, participants can taste the wine directly from the slopes.

The wine tavern has been awarded the quality seal "Recommended Württemberg Wine Tavern," highlighting its traditional orientation and regional wine offerings. To be certified as such a gastronomic establishment, the quality of the recommended wine and food offerings, as well as the service competence and glass culture of the wine tavern, are checked.
