Cellar Tour – A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Wine Production in the Badischer Winzerkeller. Experience a fascinating journey through the world of wine in Baden, the southernmost wine-growing region in Germany. Accompanied by our knowledgeable wine guides, you will discover the key stations of our traditional winery. At the beginning, we welcome you to the Badischer Weinkeller with a glass of fine sparkling wine made from a single grape variety and an introduction to the unique characteristics of the Badischer wine region. In the courtyard, you will then dive into the topics of cultivation and vine care, learning exciting details about the work in the vineyard. A first highlight awaits you in the impressive wooden barrel cellar – one of the largest and most beautiful of its kind in Germany. Over 100 artistically decorated oak barrels, still used for wine aging today, create a unique atmosphere. Next, we move to our barrique cellar, where small oak barrels, known as barriques, age our characterful red wines in long rows. In the wine treasury, you will discover valuable archive wines dating back to the 1950s. Here, you will taste a fresh and fruity white wine together with your wine guide. The historical journey continues: Our first bottling plant takes you back to the year 1953. Afterwards, we will lead you to a part of our sparkling wine cellar, where riddling racks for traditional bottle fermentation await you. In our small wine museum, we will explain the most important steps of wine production – from harvesting to the finished wine. At the same time, you will enjoy an elegant Pinot Noir during another tasting. To conclude, you will take a ride in our visitor train through the outdoor area, passing by the modern bottling plant, the glass storage, and the grape reception. Special Group Tour for Groups of Up to 200 People Available year-round daily by prior arrangement (morning & afternoon as well as evening). Price: Flat rate of €240 for up to 20 people, €12 for each additional person. For groups of 10 to 200 people, you have the option to book warm and cold meals as well.
