A Stroll Through the History of the Weingarten Monastery and Town

The baroque monastery complex on Martinsberg, with its impressive basilica, shapes the cityscape of Weingarten – but the city has much more to offer. Between historical buildings, vibrant culture, and idyllic vineyards unfolds a multifaceted history waiting to be discovered. After a brief introduction at the tourist information center in Münsterplatz, the path leads up to the former monastery, which is not only an architectural masterpiece but also provides deep insights into the history of the Welfs. From the vineyards, the route descends to the historic council and administrative building, continues to the granary, and finally to the Schlössle city museum – Weingarten is always worth a visit!
