Experiencing the tranquility and vastness of the Münsinger Hardt, where the only sounds are those of nature, is worth a visit in itself. To preserve the uniqueness of this landscape with its rare animals and plants, the "Donkey Grazing" project was initiated on the former military training area. Currently, 40 donkeys are employed in a remote pasture for landscape maintenance during the summer months. We visit the mares with their foals. Discover new and surprising aspects of this exciting bird protection project, which primarily aims to reintroduce the stone curlew. Additionally, many other positive effects for the local nature are evident. This area of the military training ground can only be visited as part of a guided tour. You will also learn about the fate of the small settlement of Schorrstallhof and its brief history. The former residents were and still are deeply rooted in the region. A detour into the forest allows you to relax and learn about the mythology and cultural history of the forest and individual tree species. You will see the forest with new eyes! Finally, a climb up the steel lattice tower "Hursch" rewards you with a wide view over the land.

Requirements: sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, possibly rain/sun protection, possibly a sitting mat, bring your own drinks and snacks, outdoor break for refreshments.
