Intimate texts, grandiose arrangements, and a country-affine jazz band - that is Hannah Köpf. The Cologne singer-songwriter is on tour with her new album "Flowermind" - with a sound that feels like it comes from Nashville, but originates from Germany. With her brilliantly clear, warm voice, she tells stories that provide both comfort and provoke thought - sometimes light and airy, sometimes intense and compelling, always full of expression and vibrancy.
Hannah Köpf - vocals
Bastian Ruppert - guitar & vocals
Mike Roelofs - piano, Hammond & vocals
Jakob Kühnemann - double bass
Tim Dudek - drums & vocals
The musical cosmos that Köpf has created together with drummer and producer Tim Dudek breathes the spirit of artists like Jackson Browne, Steely Dan, and Judee Sill, effortlessly moving between folk, New Orleans soul, Americana, jazz, and Southern country. It sounds so natural, as if she had never heard anything else but these quintessentially American genres since childhood. With "Flowermind," she continues the line of her four previous albums. After successful tours and enthusiastic reviews from both critics and audiences, Köpf now presents new songs on stage that blend Americana, country, and folk with a lyrical depth that inevitably evokes comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.
"I want to evoke emotions and create images with my lyrics," says the trained jazz singer. "But I also want to incorporate pressing questions of our time, such as the climate crisis, fascism, or social justice - subtly and without a raised finger."
Live, she is accompanied by a high-caliber, empathetic band that imaginatively brings the timeless yet contemporary sound of the album to life. Whether profound and melancholic, with hymnic power, gentle country longing, or groovy lightness - each concert promises not only musical sophistication but also an evening full of warmth, intensity, and unforgettable atmosphere.
