The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), founded in 1891, is one of the leading symphony orchestras in Europe. Its special status in the cultural life of Great Britain was emphasized in 1977 by the granting of royal patronage by Queen Elizabeth II. In 2007, the RSNO was awarded the status of one of the five National Performing Arts Companies of Scotland, supported by the Scottish Government. The RSNO believes that music can enrich lives and aims to inspire, educate, and entertain people across Scotland and beyond with its concerts and recordings. With offerings for schools, families, young professionals, and communities of all kinds, the orchestra reached over 68,000 people in 2023.

Malaysian pianist Magdalene Ho gained international attention when she won the Clara Haskil Piano Competition in 2023. She was previously a student of Patsy Toh at the Purcell School and is currently studying on a full scholarship with Dmitri Alexeev at the Royal College of Music. Born in 2003, Magdalene began piano lessons at the age of four and started her studies in the UK in 2013.
