"Nasal pull"

Following the nose leader in a goose march, the procession moves through alleys and taverns around the town. The men of Wolfach set off with a self-created nose, a "last coat" (a jacket worn inside out), a hat with a piece of wood attached, and all imaginable noise-making instruments, traversing every corner, alley, and tavern. From the city gate to the suburbs, over the alley bridge, and back to the castle courtyard. At the town fountain, the decisive moment arrives for all female beings who dared to mingle among the men. If they are recognized despite their disguise, they are mercilessly thrown into the cold water of the fountain amidst the gleeful laughter of the spectators.
