Course Start: Angels – An Approach Through Art, Literature, and Theology

Angels exert a unique fascination – whether as images or as art objects. City pastor Winter presents angels in the Bible and how they are situated in various cultures and religions – with excursions into art and literary history. Angels play a role not only in Christianity. As messengers of God, guardians, protectors, or spiritual beings, angels captivate many people in their own way – whether as images, art objects, or imagined figures to which certain attributes or functions are ascribed. In the series "Theology in the Morning," we will explore the role of angels in the Old and New Testament, their tasks, and their relationship with God and humanity over three mornings. We will investigate how angels are situated between heaven and earth in different cultural and religious contexts, while also making excursions into art and literary history.
