Pandemic, climate change, wars, tax returns, traffic jams – crises upon crises, with no end in sight. Some flee into conspiracy beliefs or outright into fascism. Others cling to common sense. Their reason is instrumental, reason in the service of unreason. It is only about the how, not the why. On stage and screen, we will explore – polemically, satirically, and analytically, questioning and criticizing – the everyday madness and the madness of normality, the pathogenic in the normal, and the irrational, which is not the opposite of the normal, but rather arises from it. It will be as amusing as Adorno's steel baths are funny.
