Cycling tour with enjoyment from Breisach to Neuf-Brisach

By bike from Breisgau to Alsace – Breisach and Neuf-Brisach with tour guide Petra Eha. Registration: by Friday at the latest, 4 PM before the tour via phone 07667 /940155. We will saddle our bikes and first circle around the Münsterberg. The places, towers, and fortress walls we pass are closely linked to the city’s history, which spans over 16 centuries. After crossing the spectacular Rhine bridges, we reach the neighboring Alsace. Shortly after the border, we head north, and after Biesheim, we follow the path along the Rhine-Rhône Canal for a few kilometers. Upon arriving in Neuf-Brisach, we take the path through the ramparts around the impressive bastion. Built in the late 17th century under Louis XIV by his fortification architect Sebastian de Vauban, the entire site is now considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We take a delightful break at one of the small cafés on the former parade and drill ground, enjoying "Café and Petit Pain" (tea and croissants are, of course, also welcome). From here, it’s just a few kilometers back to our starting point. The route is approximately 25 km long, has hardly any inclines, and mostly leads us along paved paths, sometimes also on roads with little traffic. The pace is leisurely. Duration is about 3 hours. You will undertake the ride on your own (or self-borrowed) bike/E-bike. The group has a maximum of 14 participants and is led by a local guide. Meeting point and registration at: Breisach-Touristik. What we would like to note: • Participation in the tour is at your own risk and responsibility. • You must follow your guide's instructions. • We recommend wearing a bicycle helmet. • Please keep in mind that you are in Alsace, which is in a foreign country – please check if you have health insurance coverage for abroad just in case.
