Action Days at the Red Tower

On International Museum Day, the Action Day at the Red Tower traditionally takes place in Bad Wimpfen. On Saturday and Sunday, the area around the Staufer watchtower will be animated with medieval camp life. The Wimpfen Staufer Guard will also be present, patrolling the battlements of the tower and the adjacent city wall just as they did during the time of the Staufer kings and emperors. At the foot of the tower, the group Opus manuum from the Zabergäu region will set up their camp and showcase various medieval crafts. Admission to the permanent exhibition of the Red Tower is free during the action weekend, and those who wish can enjoy the magnificent view of the old town of Bad Wimpfen and the Neckar Valley from the observation platform at the top of the tower.

Our tip: The Imperial City Museum in the Old Hospital, the Church History Museum in the Palatine Chapel, and the Historical Museum in the Stone House can also be visited on the action days - admission is free!
