Benefit concert with the State Police Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg

With numerous benefit, gala, and church concerts, the musicians under the direction of their chief conductor, Prof. Stefan R. Halder, bring the "good sound of the police" to both domestic and international audiences. The State Police Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg is one of the most renowned professional wind orchestras in Germany. Its high musical standard and stylistic versatility make the orchestra a sought-after guest at music festivals and broadcasts on radio and television. It is particularly appealing for the orchestra to take the audience on a journey through the inexhaustible world of well-known, as well as lesser-known melodies. The musicians aim to provide listeners with a musical experience, transporting them to other worlds for a few hours and conveying a lively, cheerful atmosphere. The professional orchestra, featuring a classic arrangement of brass and woodwind players along with a percussion group, embraces a wide range of styles: classical music, symphonic wind music, swing, and jazz are just as much part of the repertoire as rock, pop, and traditional wind music. The well-known jazz saxophonist Peter Lehel from Karlsruhe will perform as a soloist.

Conductor
Since March 1, 2015, Mr. Stefan R. Halder has been the chief conductor of the State Police Orchestra of Baden-Württemberg. He completed his studies at the State University of Music in Trossingen, where he received a teaching assignment for clarinet in 2004. In 2005, he was given a teaching assignment for the newly established field of wind orchestra conducting. Since 2011, Stefan R. Halder has also been the artistic director and conductor of the City Orchestra of Rottenburg. Additionally, he works closely with the Saxon Wind Philharmonic to continually provide his students with practical experience working with professional orchestras alongside the State Police Orchestra. Numerous performances of oratorios, symphonic concerts, and operettas document the conductor's broad repertoire.
